The project

The 20th century, from an ontological point of view, will undoubtedly remain the century of the great deflagration. Absolute barbarians falling in waves on entire continents, unprecedented upheavals of technological perspectives, apparent collapses of ideologies in favour of a single global capitalist vision, ecological future more than compromised, redefinition of geographical and temporal borders… Who can say who he is, in this profound metamorphosis of the human society? The future perspectives, as we keep hearing, are inexorably anxious and constitute the legitimacy of political, economic and social radicalities, which the dominant ideology imposes as an unavoidable common base. From then on, what place could be given to the artist’s word or, more precisely, how can the latter fit into a sensible and sensitive act that does not follow the lead of a frontal denunciation with no future since it is already envisaged by the «system» and therefore already in a phase of potential assimilation ; an act like an irreducible dissonance in the concert of tumults. To this question, my personal answer is, first of all, to turn my back on the elaboration of a simplistic and demanding project aimed at yet another criticism of designated officials, which is yet another desperate demand. If art, by definition, is political, I do not want to address myself through this project directly to the citizen, but above all to «being», a disconcerting human entity, in the full sense of its modalities and properties. Faced with the vertigo of this ambition, I feel the need to rise above it. I decide to install my «theatre» on the Himalayan summits to reveal it in the eyes of the world in the form of a timeless parable that shakes up the classical references of Western societies.
