Serge Baudo

Honorary president of this edition
Serge Baudo is well known to music lovers in Lyon, as he was director of the ONL for almost 20 years. His career as a conductor began with the Nice Radio Orchestra, before he was appointed permanent conductor successively at the Opéra de Paris and the Orchestre de Paris. Throughout his long and highly successful career, he has been particularly active in the field of creation. A composer himself, he has always attached great importance to contemporary music.
During his time at the helm of the ONL, he took the ensemble to new heights with numerous international tours and remarkable recordings, some of which are still cited as benchmarks, notably Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande.
