is an Argentine composer and conductor. He mainly focused on instrumental theatre by renewing the sound material (electroacoustic, various sounds). But he also explored the dramatic resources of contemporary musical language in radio plays, films, electroacoustic works and ancient forms. From the 1980s onwards, Kagel began to break new conventions and hearing habits, with: Rrrrrrr…, a 41-pieces ensemble (1980-1982) and the Third String Quartet (1986-1987).
Mauricio Kagel is the author of compositions for orchestra, voice, piano and chamber orchestra, numerous stage works, seventeen films and eleven radio plays.
